Single Will

A single document for a single person.

A Single Will can be made by any person whether they are single, married, in a civil partnership or in a relationship. It is a document setting out their wishes as to how they want their estate and assets to be distributed on their death.

It is important to make a Will even if you are single to make sure that your wishes are carried out when you die. There are good reasons for doing so and these include:

Peace of mind knowing that your family will not be subjected to complex issues that may arise by not making a Will. It avoids disputes that may arise between your relatives over who has the right to administer or benefit from your estate.

Mirror Wills

Two documents as a ‘matched pair’ for spouses, civil partners or a partner.

If you are married, civil partners or cohabitees and you do have similar wishes Mirror Wills may be the best option for you. There is no such thing as a joint Will. There must be two completely separate legal documents although they will both have very similar contents that ‘mirror’ each other.

This will enable you to:-

• Appoint each other to be sole beneficiaries and Executors of Each other’s Will.
• Appoint other people you both trust as Executors who will deal with their estate when you both die.
• Name who you both wish to benefit from specific possessions or gifts.
• Name who will benefit from your estate if you both die.
• Appoint Guardians to look after any minor children.
